Annual Firearm Proficiency Exam for Retired Law Enforcement Officers

Front Sight Firearms is proud to offer the annual 50-round firearm proficiency exam for retired law enforcement officers. If you need to obtain or renew your firearm qualification, we’ve got you covered!

Course of Fire:

Each retired officer will fire a modified FBI Shooting Qualification 50 rounds at an official B-27 target using the standard scoring method.


✔ Minimum passing score: 175 points out of 250 / 70%
✔ One string of fire will incorporate a timed reload

Breakdown of Rounds Fired:

🔹 12 rounds at the 3-yard line

🔹 12 rounds at the 5-yard line

🔹 16 rounds at the 7-yard line

🔹 10 rounds at the 15-yard line

Cost:

💰 $50 per person

🛑 Note: Range fees and ammunition are not included in the course price.

Required Equipment:

✔ Duty-type handgun in good repair (no modifications that reduce safety)
✔ Properly fitted in-or-out the waistband holster
✔ 50 rounds of ammunition
✔ Two magazines for semi-automatics
✔ Hearing & eye protection (loaners available)
✔ Valid Texas photo ID
